Magic has been a part of human culture for as long as we’ve existed, and Wales has a rich history of charms, healers, cunning folk, and yes, even witches.
It can be found in ancient pagan lore, myth and folktales, Christian charms, and through to the modern religious movement of paganism, as well as lucky charms, superstitions, and folk practices like blowing out a birthday candle and wishing on a star!
The Museum of Magic and Folklore aims to share that rich history in Wales and within the context of magic across Britain, Europe, and the World.
We’re brand new and starting out as a Virtual museum with “Pop-Up” appearances to connect with supporters (like you) across the world before we open our doors in Aberystwyth, West Wales.
